Welcome!

UPDATE 10/20/2009: We still have space for some more runners. Registration (and bib pick-up) will be available on Thursday and Friday at Fleet Feet in Pleasant Hill. We will also have race day registration available on race day at Las Trampas Regional Wilderness -- no runners will be turned away! For directions to the race, use the link here.

PRIOR UPDATE: We have just found out that we will have a special guest for our event. If you have not had a chance to read "Born to Run" by Christopher McDougall, we highly recommend it. Caballo BlancoWe are honored to have the one and only "Caballo Blanco" (one of the main figures of the book) in attendance. He will be there before, during and after the races to answer questions, sign books and discuss his experiences with the Tarahumara (aka Raramuri) runners of Mexico.

The third of the Brazen Racing trail races, the Rocky Ridge Trail Half Marathon/10K/5K will be taking place at Las Trampas Regional Park on Saturday, October 24th, 2009.

With 3,882 acres of wilderness, Las Trampas Regional Park offers those on its trails a feeling of being a million miles away from the hustle and bustle of the city. The Half Marathon and 10K climb to the peak of the Rocky Ridge Trail, offering runners stunning vistas from the Santa Cruz Mountains to Mount Tamalpais and Mount Diablo. All courses include fire roads, short sections of asphalt and single-track.

While experienced runners will enjoy the challenge and exploration of new territory, those new to the trails will also discover a whole new world of running where it is perfectly normal (and highly recommended!) to walk the hills and save your energy for the flat and downhill sections.

Walkers/hikers and runners of all levels are welcome.

While there are always a handful of people looking to win the race, the majority of runners are only competing against themselves and are out for the pure joy of running a new course, supported by fantastic volunteers and sharing time with fellow trail runners.

All runners will receive finisher medals and technical t-shirts (available in gender-specific styles and in sizes ranging from youth small up to men's 6XL).

The half marathon will start at 8:30am, the 10K at 8:40am and the 5K at 8:50am.

Parking is free!
